New Volunteer Orientation
|
Do you have an hour a week or more to give? Are you ready to get started?
Whether you have a professional teaching background or not, there's a place for you at the Brunner Literacy Center. BLC volunteers come from all walks of life - teachers, yes, and also accountants, engineers, homemakers, and more. Whatever skills you have, we can guarantee there are adult students who want to learn what you can teach. The BLC will help prepare you to become a tutor or to help in a number of other ways - administration, event planning, and others. Let us know how you can help, and we'll get you trained. Tutors are needed at both BLC locations - in Salem Plaza and at the Day Reporting Center (1901 S. Gettysburg Ave). Off-site tutoring in public locations is also possible for tutor-student teams who prefer to meet after hours or on weekends in locations convenient for them. Attending a volunteer orientation is necessary regardless of where you would like to volunteer. To schedule your individual orientation session, simply call the BLC at 937-567-9600. |
