What can you do to support adult education?

Improving education in the Dayton area is truly a team effort, and we need your help.

Whether you have a teaching background or not, whether you can give one hour a week or ten, there's a place for you at the BLC. 

BLC volunteers come from many walks of life: engineers, teachers, nurses, research analysts, accountants, homemakers, carpenters, mechanics, and artists. A tutor’s background does not matter as much as possessing a sincere willingness to help others.

​Our tutors are:

• Dedicated people who enjoy sharing their gifts and knowledge
• Compassionate individuals who understand others’ needs
• Respectful partners who are willing to be flexible in their tutoring methods and plans for meeting their students' educational goals

There are plenty of ways you can help. In addition to tutoring, some of our volunteer needs include:

• Fundraising
• Custodial/General cleaning help
• Reception/Secretarial help
• Data Entry
• Special Events
