Our volunteer tutors come from many walks of life: engineers, teachers, nurses, research analysts, accountants, homemakers, carpenters, mechanics, and artists. The tutor’s background does not matter as much as possessing a sincere willingness to help others.
Our tutors are:
Dedicated people who enjoy sharing their gifts and knowledge
Compassionate individuals who understand others’ needs
Respectful partners who are willing to be flexible in their tutoring methods and plans for meeting their students' educational goals
There are lots of ways to help! In addition to tutoring, some of our volunteer needs include:
Custodial/General cleaning help
Due to our rapid growth, the BLC offers regular training workshops for new volunteers. Workshops are free to attend and are an excellent way for you to get to know us and our work!
Call us today to register for your spot in the program that best fits your schedule.
You may also express your interest by completing the RSVP form below. Just note that your submission does not guarantee your seat for that workshop. After we receive your information, we will contact you to confirm your seat if availability exists for your preferred date. Calling us is the faster way to make your reservation! All workshops take place at our Salem Plaza location regardless of which of our location(s) you choose to serve.
